Home watching is one type of watching.

Home watching happens before a home becomes home.
Home watching is conducted by well-trained eyes, operated by a third agent, and could be out-sourced for multiple times.

Home watching slides across and between surfaces, corners, and focuses on small details.
Home watching functions between potentially conflicted eyes and memories.

Home watching is a slightly different type of watching.

Di Chen

Di Chen is an artist and researcher working with audio/video materials, creative/theoretical writings, and events like web-based performances. Her current interests centre around the “actionability” or “liveliness” of audio/visual entities, following questions regarding what can images/sounds “do” in the age of planetary computation.

Everywhere, Nowhere

The idea of this work begins after sharing my everyday stroll with the artist Di Chen who was matched for the Soft Focus project. Walking through a slightly different route every time can discover things that remained and disappeared. Those are buildings and people in history. It would be also possible to find similarities in another space on the earth. This work shows private space but also includes the universal idea throughout industrial history.

Jeongwon Eom

Eom Jeongwon is a visual artist working with video, installation, drawing and performance. Underpinning her practice is an interest in ways of seeing that includes perspectives on human and nature, hallucinations, scientific belief, and images with mass media. Her practice is as much concerned with the truth of a documentary as subjectivity and imagination that manipulate fictional worlds. By expressing actual experiences with a history of individuality and marginality, she tries to re-envision conventional ideas.
